Freek Vermaak, known internationally as The Prison Preacher, is a passionate South African evangelist, speaker, coach, and media missionary with over 24 years of ministry experience. Called by God to bring hope into some of the darkest places on earth, Freek has dedicated his life to preaching the Gospel in prisons, schools, youth centres, churches, and communities across South Africa and beyond.

Known for his raw honesty, bold faith, and powerful storytelling, Freek has ministered to thousands of inmates and seen countless lives transformed through the saving grace of Jesus Christ. His message is simple but life-changing: no one is too far gone for God’s love and redemption.

As the founder of Baasraak Media and various outreach platforms, including prison-focused radio, television, podcasts, and music projects, Freek uses modern media to reach people far beyond prison walls. Through his music, broadcasts, and speaking engagements, he continues to give a voice to the forgotten, the broken, and the underdogs of society.
